This simulation provides a baseline for dissolved oxygen (DO). Temperature range is from 40 to 80 degrees Farenheidt. The DO calculated is for elevations less than 1000 ft and is based upon information found at URL:

http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/copubs/ag/aqua/trout/030

Temperature input is required via the orange slider. Sliding the bar to the right/left will increase/dcrease the temperature. Clicking inside the depressed temperature indicator on the slider will fade the temperature -at that point actual temperature can be typed into the slider.

A flow rate for a generic river has been added. The maximum flow is 10 (4820 gal/min), although the slider indicates 20 as the maximum rate. The mimimum flow rate is 551 (1 step).

Increasing the flow rate will increase the amount of DO by .1 mg/l for each step increase in the water flow. The maximum allowable increase is 1.00 mg/l at a flow rate of 10.
