What type of consulting do you do?

Consulting in Technology-based Learning

Our mission is to assist educators and organizations to learn to develop and use the plethora of available tools for computer-based/web-based learning. We want to make it possible for organizations and individuals to develop on-line courses themselves, without having to resort to professional support.

Many "technology consultants" have developed instructions, plans, and design documents for developing web-pages by having their clients learn html. But most busy professionals don't have the time it takes to learn this programming language, simple as it might be - thats why there are html editors to assist in the coding and linking for web-page designers.

Using an $80.00 html editor and an hour of instruction, a curriculum development team of US Navy Instructional Systems Specialists were able to begin developing curriculum in support of the Navy's electronic clasrooms. Following the instruction, this team was well on its way to developing a new methodology which brings the use of html editor, powerpoint, audio, video, and graphics into one comprehesive instructional development package for use in the classroom.

Speaking of technology tools, one of the quickest methods to take print based syllabi and make it web enabled is through the use of a Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software, scanner, html editor, and the cut / copy / paste commands of your computer. However, just because this is an easy method to get material onto the Web doesn't necessarily mean that the job is "easy" or even effective.
